The best way to teach our children is by example. It is important to show them why we study the Bible, how they can study it themselves, and how they can grow in their own faith and relationship with God. But, we know that as busy moms, it’s hard to juggle things for each person in the family.
As a companion to Grace-Filled Motherhood: 30 Days of Encouragement for Moms, we recommend Beautifully Surrendered for Kids: God’s Heart for Children, a Bible study that focuses on how God used children throughout His redemptive story. This study explores what it means to surrender our lives to Jesus, no matter our age.
In Beautifully Surrendered for Kids we will read about some of the kids in the Bible, like Moses, Miriam, Samuel, David, and Daniel, learning how God worked in their lives at an early age. They were kids, just like you!
You know what? David wasn’t brave overnight, and you don’t have to be either. God first placed David in fields tending sheep, learning to fight bears before he ever had to fight a giant. Like David, God is actively preparing you for your future, too. Each day matters.
What God did in the lives of the children in the Bible, He can do in your life, too. Maybe you will learn to fight giants by tending sheep, like David, or stand up for what is right, like Daniel. Or maybe, like Miriam, you will learn to trust God in the unknown of a new school, new town, or new family. No matter what you face, you can be certain that God is actively working in your life.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, sweet one. You can glorify Him with the days He has given you as you learn about what He has done in the lives of people in the Bible. It’s never too early to live for Him!
Join us for this six week study as we learn to trust God with our lives, stand up for truth, and set a good example for others, one day at a time. This study is ideal for children between five and eleven years old. This Love God Greatly study journal contains a six-week reading plan with selected passages about children in the biblical narrative. Also included are daily Scripture readings, pages for reflecting on daily and weekly lessons, short daily devotions, and coloring and activity pages.
